On Friday, March 31, students will stay after school following the school performance at 2:50. Cindy Elston and Kaci Price will take pictures for UIL per the request for the State program.  Following that, we will load the trailer, double check costumes, and leave by 5PM. Our rehearsal in Seminole is at 7:05 and we have to be there 30 minutes early.  Fuddruckers’ is providing boxed hamburger lunches.

 

On Saturday, April 1, we are the second play. The directors’ meeting is at 12:30. The first play begins at 1:30 and the plays run back to back.  This contest will be run tighter than bi-district’s. We have to be in Seminole by 10 AM.  I need students in my room by 8AM. We will have breakfast, lunch from Subway, and dinner from Pizza Hut. I have made arrangements for gluten free meals for those who need them on Friday and two meals (breakfast and lunch) on Saturday.  The Pizza Hut does not offer gluten free pizza, so I can make sandwiches. If you have a better idea, please call me. 

 

The awards ceremony will follow the plays after the judges deliberate.  I think we will be out of Seminole around 10.  All students must attend the awards ceremony per UIL rules. 

 

Nicole Talley is going to get snacks and water for this weekend.  Should we advance to Regionals, we will probably need another $5.00 donation per child for snacks during that contest.

OAP Notes. March 27, 2017:

Everyone	Leave for Seminole at 5 Friday.  We will pick up something to eat on the way. Leave for Seminole at 8 on Saturday.  Bring dress clothes and makeup wipes.
GG	All the gut girls need to have different reactions when Annie enters. Polly did good with it   -Look like you're remembering your first time in the gutting shed when trying to comfort Annie. be WAY louder. But don't yell, just project Whenever you're comforting Annie, you're also reassuring yourself Everyone should throw in some stuff like Jonah did. It kept everyone on their toes and kept the show fresh. It also took everyone out of the habits they developed for that scene
Harry	when you enter react more to what Ellen is saying  -let’s see how it is registering on your face.
Kate	react in a different way when you see Harry is about to get Ellen.  See fear on your face
Don	we need to see you pick a side and react when Lady H and Arthur are talking about the girls getting off an hour earlier in the rape scene I think it would be good if don dropped the chains later. He could come to the side of her and then drop them on the other side.  (Couch – we will look at this)
Len	be grosser with his lines
Annie	We should see Annie's journey warming up to all the other girls in the shed.

We need for all students to pay $5.00 for snacks for this weekend as well as water.  If there are funds left, we will apply it to the next contest.

 

Friday – students should be in my room by 9AM.  We will leave for Tulia at 9:45 promptly.  Our official rehearsal is from 11:30-12:30.  We will return to Shallowater before school is out.

 

Saturday – students need to be in my room by 10 AM – earlier if they have not packed their boxes for contest.  The first play begins at 1:30. But, last contest, we ended up being 30 minutes earlier than we had expected. We should go on between five and six o’clock.  However, it could be earlier or later depending on how the contest manager runs the contest and how long the other plays are.  We will feed the kids lunch and dinner.  I think we will be close to 10-11 when we return that night.

 

Students need to bring towels to take showers if needed; students need to bring their own makeup remover; students need to wear dress clothes for the awards ceremony.  Everyone must be present at the critiques per UIL rules.

Everyone	Act and react – listen Wait a beat, do the fart face (if you haven’t reacted), before exiting the scene. All actors fill out costume plots and turn in on Monday. Pay $5 and list what you want as snacks. I need to know what you want from Subway for Saturday’s lunch. On Friday, be in my room by 9. Wear T shirts.  We will leave SHS at 9:45 and will eat at Furrs on return. Monday and Tuesday – rehearsals at 5:30 No rehearsal Thursday because of track meet.

Gut girls	Make a big a transition as Maggie does when getting to go outside to eat sarnies – make sure that everyone knows you are outside.  Weather is cold, but smells so much better. Don’t let laughter die abruptly after fallen women.  Maggie have more fun with that scene.  Laugh so hard that you almost wet your pants. – let the frivolity melt into the lantern scene. Lantern scene – amazed words Crikey Bloody marvelous This is one off It’s spiffing – good I’m gobsmacked – surprised Quiet moving furniture in scene where Lady H and Priscilla are talking about the bruise Lord will provide – squeal laugh – you finally figured out why Polly has so many pockets – watch out for Harry Faces out at the end.
