People noises in club and Brown bear
Everyone – create your own characters.
Never drop character
In lantern scene, react.
Move slowly – we are NOT freezing when you are not the focus in the scene.
Cutting Eady/Maggie scene.
Helena’s presence in the room changes – sounds, motive, focus, intention. 
EVERYONE MOVE SLOWLY WHEN YOU ARE NOT THE FOCUS - DO NOT FREEZE.
Singing
During transitions singing together is okay, but songs like sailor song – one person starts it and others join in.  – maybe at the beginning too
Girls hum during Jim and Harry’s scene.

Brown Bear
Could not hear turkey gristle line.  Girls anticipated it and laughed before Maggie said it.
Show taking meat off Annie – show it toward audience, pass it hand to hand
In club – which path – should be funny and should react by laughing.
We don’t have thunder yet, but react to it during lantern scene.
We need to have you cleaner(face) after slaughter house.
Pull chain at the end so that Ellen has to step over them.
Study Annie as she enters.  Personalize each introduction .
Keep heads up.
Personalize your work.
Could not hear lines in the pub.
Girls, be more paralyzed with news from Ellen that jobs may be lost.
More fear, confused, amazed by white caps and aprons.
Jim and Harry
Loved this scene – Jim don’t come in late.

Be concerned with the girls – especially your first entrance.
Relish on the girls’ accomplishment – knickers – maid scene
More urgent with Priscilla – we have no time to help these girls.
Lantern Scene
Girls be more excited.  Oooh   Aaah
Be riveted by the magic – crawl to center.

Attempted rape – Maggie, back further with the knife – in the stance.

Right stage – add another 4 X 4..  We need a desk???????

Late lights. Can you fix them before the scene starts by anticipating?

he called you a SOB again which in this show is a compliment.

Annie, when speaking to Ellen – embarrassed by maid’s costume, then almost hysterical when you say you can’t go on the streets.  Physical sensation of not wanting to be attacked.

  1. I think we all just need to focus on reactions and creating moments every time we can. I think if we do that it will strengthen our play a lot more and make it easier for the audience to understand and get a deeper meaning of the play.

  2. i wasn't here but i heard things went well!! one big thing i'm working on is making sure i always have energy and not anticipating lines. but as for smaller things go, i'm working on smaller details. like reacting when i go outside and adding funny parts

  3. i'm sad we had to cut because i love having as much of the show as we can, but i'm so excited that we will be able to have more moments. that will definitely be nice to not feel so rushed. for the people who watch the show: does it look too rushed?

  4. Everyone needs to nit anticipating lines, it needs to be more like a conversation than a dialog. The gut girls also need to work on nit working when Lady Helena visits the gutting shed.

  5. i think Lou gave amazing notes and we should take in everything he said! I think it's so important that we each really find our own characters and stick with them, they need to become natural to us so that we are less fake and don't anticipate lines. I loved when Lou said we need to make the audience think with their heart not their head. Everyone also needs to pick out what they're afraid of because i think that'll help us connect with our characters and show change as we overcome those fears.

  6. The show is progressing but everyone needs to concentrate on constanants for example on Saturday I didn't here Annie say the "t" on anything (sorry Cooper):)

  7. Even though I couldn't stay the whole critics i really enjoyed listening to what he said. I think he gave us great tipps and we should really try to take in what he said.

  8. We just need to work on the "moments" of the play. We also have a problem with pronounciation making the play understandable. If we fix those problems we will be soaring thought the wind

  14. I think everything is starting to workout. The silent practice really helped us. We've got to work hard and really give it our all so that we can make it all the way

  15. Personally, I love the Kate and Jim scene. However, during this scene, it seems very light-hearted and whimsical throughout. The direction that the script takes though is one that grows more bittersweet as it progresses. I think a bit less whimsy and a little more sobriety towards the end of the scene would greatly accentuate the joke about giving your money back to Jesus at the end of the scene.

  17. I think all of the tips that Lou gave us about showing our characters fears and having slower moments will help develope and define our characters to take our play to the next level. We need to work on slowing it down and really humanizing these characters to take the audience on the journey Lou was talking about.

  18. I really like how Lou set up mine and Jims scene!! I think it will be a lot easier to put him in a headlock sitting in that position! And I also like that Lou wanted moments of silence! I think it will add a lot to our play!! I think we need a little help on people noises, but we are getting there!

  19. Don't get so caught up in your accents that you forget to react and create moments. Don't anticipate each line so much that it looks scripted. Make it look more like an actual real life conversation.

  20. The accents I feel may be holding up back and that is definitely an obstacle we need to over come before we can move forward. The anticipation of lines is real and not realistic and I'm sorry because I know I am like the worst one... (stressed face) I love this play and hope it will go far!!

  23. Accents stay consistent throughout! More people noises and bigger reactions in Brooke and Don's scene. Transitions are getting more snooth! - CLAIRE MALONE

  24. My scene with many and poly is starting to get good I think if I as the man run over everyone else's lines it'll flow better.

  26. Keep accents consistent, work on hitting consonants. Our actions are getting better, we just need to work on getting consistent accents without sacrificing The ability to hear what they are saying
