Everyone
If there is silence because a transition is late keep make people noises.
Rough transition going from Ellen and Maggie to everyone
Singers, make sure you start together everytime you sing.
Do not talk backstage.
Forgot
Kate – chains- profits back to Jesus
Arthur – take chains from Lady H’s house. Have them with you when you slap Priscilla
Maids put chains on chairs.
Move slowly at the beginning – especially Len
Gut girls – kick the chains.
Maggie
She goes from stumbling to fine instantly. Rape scene
Silence in transition from the end of scene 18.
We need a ring after you marry Len, but I think in Europe it is on a different finger – research.
Arthur
Lights
Scene 12 Arthur is out of the light at first.

Edwin
Don’t start moving before Maggie is in the way.
Don’t lean toward the knife during struggle
make the choice to pour a drink
lost accent – Ask Carly
We need to work on lines after gutting shed. They couldn’t hear them because you were talking upstage.
Deny Men – more appalled.
Lady H
Lady Helena more emphasis on Jesus didn't judge her.
Gesture with chains when talking about new rule.
Loved the way you used chains and left them in Gutting shed.
Loved your people noises.
Edwin
Maggie
Maggie is the only one making noise during the struggle.

Arthur
Priscilla
When Priscilla says it's not my head, but my heart, Arthur needs to become furious, she shouldn't have feelings towards servants.

Priscilla
Polly
Light needs to come on before Polly notices Priscilla.

Annie
don't say "don't look at me" before she looked at you
accent isn't consistent
bigger reaction when smelling
Turkey gristle beat-look puzzled – you have turkeys here?
Taylor,
- your lights have to come on at the same time, if not don't turn them on (maybe find out a few scenes they don't have to be in so you have more time to make sure they are on in time)

Len
what a woman" needs to be louder
Jim
blokes might see" , you walk out of the light
Priscilla
don't slouch – Have you bought the corset yet?
Priscilla
Lady H

-Lady H and Priscilla, great people noises

Kate
Lost accent – me mother died.
Kate, spit then wipe chair.
GG
More people noises in gutting shed.
Work while talking
More animated, more gasps in lantern show.
Bar was quiet when Ellen left.
Lady H
Arthur
Remember Freida in first scene.
Maids
Try not to move things in light downstage.
Emily
Good job doing everyone’s job while Nora played Polly and Harry was gone.
Arthur
Edwin
Grunt, etc
People noises when you fall, are hit, etc.
Men
Laugh at the women.

To do
Lady H’s hat
Strike signs
End of scene 16
Lady H:……. Reverse decision
Factory
Everyone SHHHHHHHH
End of scene 17
Polly: Lord will provide
Factory
Everyone SHHHHHHHH
End of scene 18
Lady H: …let’s do it again
Factory
Everyone SHHHHHHHH
Times: 10 minutes
20 minutes
30 minutes
Enlist support
One needs help overcoming shyness
Maybe Lady H can do something for me

  1. The transitions are getting a lot smoother, but I think they can still improve if we dedicate ourselves to memorizing the list Mrs.Couch has given us. I think the clinic on Monday went very well, and I know Frida's critiques will make our play all the stronger. We are going to do great in front of Lou!!

  3. I haven't been here that day, but I saw tonight that there is still freezing when people aren't in the spotlight instead of moving slow motion.

  5. One thing i just thought of is when starting a new scene, make sure you pick up the task you were doing from in the dark. Does that make sense? Like i don't think it looks good when the light comes on and 2 seconds pass before you start/continue your action. Just a thought

  6. I think the transition from Ellen and Jim to Ellen and Annie and then to Ellen and Maggie is going a lot more smoothly. I have tried to vary the ways I say each of their names and how I react in each scene

  10. I think we need to keep up the energy throughout the play. We do the beggining of the play so much and it's really strong and the end needs to be just as strong.

  11. The play is getting a lot better, the transitions are wonderful, the moments are there. We just need to make sure that the audience can userstand what someone is saying.
